Review of "Secret,Sins and Struggles - The Journeys of Five Women" by Kamini Kusum

Today I am going to Review a book called  Secrets,Sins and Struggles - The Journeys of Five Women  by Kamini Kusum.

Don't worry, this is going to be a non-spoiler review of this book and I have got quite a few things to say about it.

Lets get started now.

• Secrets,Sins and Struggles - Struggle of Five Women

First, The Plot -

As the title suggest,this book is a collection of stories of five different women from different walks of their life. All these women face challenges. But despite that, they continue to move foreward, keeping their strength intact.

Character - 

As earlier said, there are five women as main protagonist.

Pooja, who is forced into flesh trade, but she wants to study and she tried her bst to break the circles that bind her.

Shrawani, who wants to became an IAS officer, but she keep facing difficulties in her love life as well as family life. 

Avni, who is madly in love with her boyfriend. However, her childhood friend doesn't seem to aprove of him.

Harsha, who was married to a man whom she doesn't love and she wants to be with her lover at any cost.

Geshna, who loves her high school sweetheart so much that she is willingly ready to compromise on her aspirations for him. 

All these five women make mistakes, and none of them are perfect, but they all have their strengths. they deal with the struggle that come their way in their own respective manner. The one thing that each one of them has in common is that they are very determined. They never give up, which, I believe, is a very appreciable quality and that is something we all should take inspirations from.

My Opinion - 

 

As for the language and the writing style of the author, she has kept it pretty easy to follow so that this book can be read in a single sitting, which is I think, great.

As per the Execution,I really like the fact that Never-Say-die attitude is the main theme of this book. This book is a eye opener for young girls in a lot of ways.  Also, ths book talks about the various evils that exists in the society against women and how a woman should never surrender to all of those. 

The few things that bother me little, were that, in the fist story, Pooja's emotion could have been portrayed a little better. And also I think that the stories were a little predictable, but that did not really hamper my reading experiences, which was pretty nice.

All in all, I believe, this is a book has lot of crests and a few rough edges.

I'll definitely recommend this book to you, especially if you are a girl, because not only this book is well intentioned, but it is also very nicely executed.
